Thanks Archibald, yes, I’ve read there can be 50-200 eggs in the mass. I was not able to stay and watch, because I had an appointment. However, I’ve read that some will eat their siblings for their first meal, which I would have loved to capture. For this reason they scatter quickly. There are 5 newbies coming out of close proximity to one end. I’m not sure if this was the beginning, or near the end of this clutch, but these are the best two of about 50 quick shots.
