A couple shots from yesterday of the couple non-green mantises I was able to find in my garden. I see plenty of green ones, so it's nice to come across something a little different on occasion. These were still very small, so hopefully they make to be full size and I run into them again

Neat shots. I don't see any wings yet - they must be small mantises.

Thanks! Yes, both were very small. The lighter colored one was maybe one-inch long overall, the darker colored one was maybe 2-inches at most, so still a lot of growing for both of them

I'm forever blowing bubbles! Why do flies blow bubbles? To cool down, they say. It was only 20°C. What's it going to do when it is hot?

These beautiful photographs just amaze me. I know I'm a beginner but I can't get close to the detail and clarity under controlled conditions with a still subject. I can't even do it with a copy stand taking a shot of a coin. Does it come down to the quality and quantity of light? I know my Canon R7 and RF100mm f2.8L is capable of getting the quality shot. I'll keep working on it. I know it doesn't come without practice and hard work.
