Wow, ten star. Besides being sharp and well-composed, it depicts a special moment. I love the eggs and the tiny bit of green behind the eye of the bug.

The eggs seem to be huge compared to the size of the bug.

Thanks very much! I'll be keeping an eye on her over the next few days, and will hopefully catch the young as they emerge.

Missed it by that much ...

I spent over an hour trying to get a decent shot of a flying Hoverfly. I thought that, because they hover, it would be relatively easy. Nope. This was the best of a bad bunch.

Nice try with the hovering hoverfly. They are tough to do. I have many attempts too, might post some in the future.

Nice colorful hornet pic. Are adult Asian hornets carnivores? Sounds a bit unusual to me, but what do I know. At least it didn't take a chunk out of you.

Yes, they will eat other insects and carrion, and obviously take nectar too when available.

Super shot - bug with prey. At first I was thinking robber fly... but it looks more like a wasp now...

Yeah, it looks like some kind of small wasp. But I'm not sure.

?

Sharp and clear.

Edit: never mind, I see it's a fly.

I think that jumping spiders are really cool. I'm amazed at their jumping ability. Both your shots are really nice, and sharp...great clarity.

Nice shots... I particularly like the second one with the eye reflection.
