LeConte's and Lark Sparrows

The LeConte's I photographed on a Big Day in our county at the end of May; the Lark Sparrow was in mid-May in SW Manitoba. Both are in their preferred habitats.

Really nice look at both birds, Al! I've never seen the LaConte's before and just recently encountered my first Lark Sparrow.

The LeConte's Sparrow is absolutely beautiful. Well done, sir.

Thanks, Eric; I appreciate your comments. I looked at the range map and I see LeConte's aren't quite in your neck of the woods; they sure are a gorgeous sparrow though. They can be tough to photograph as they prefer to run away through the weeds rather than showing themselves. And I recall your post of the Lark Sparrow; that rich mahogany coloration is beautiful.
