Thanks, Eric; I appreciate your comments. I looked at the range map and I see LeConte's aren't quite in your neck of the woods; they sure are a gorgeous sparrow though. They can be tough to photograph as they prefer to run away through the weeds rather than showing themselves. And I recall your post of the Lark Sparrow; that rich mahogany coloration is beautiful.
