I have a wide gamut 30 bit display. I've been using a AMD Firepro V5900 card. Rendering 1080P video was very slow, and now I've been doing 4k video and it's ridiculously slow. The computer is Core i7-6700K @ 4GHz. 16 GB memory, Windows 10, 64 bit.
So I got a Quadro K1200. I had to add it to the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file to enable Mercury Playback in Premiere. But some effects, like Shadows/Highlights, turn the Render Bar red, and rendering 4k video is still horribly slow.
So I got a Quadro P4000. Also had to add it to the "cuda_supported_cards.txt" file to enable Mercury Playback. Render time for a 3 minute 4k video dropped from 20 minutes to 17 minutes, which is not near as much improvement as I expected.
Is Premiere Pro CC any faster than Premiere Pro CS6?
