Title is self-explanetory.

They're doing some sort of 'buy this-much-ink-and-get-something' now,
and half-off certain papers, and it's cool, I suppose. But not what I want.

How do I find these deals?
Is it only for CPS folks?
Registered PRO-printer folks?
Registered certain-body owners?
Should I just keep searching at the Canon website?

I'm looking to get a good supply of quality photo paper, and I've seen mention
of buy-1-get-9-free, and buy-ink-get-paper-free, and othersuch direct from Canon.
I think there's a 50-pack of 13x19 paper offered right now with certain ink purchases,
but all I can find is a 'Pro Paper Sampler' offered with free shipping, or a 50%-off
for certain papers.

In my PRO-100 Paper thread, Jake mentioned several ways to get the paper at next to nothing,
and linked several threads here about it, and I'm certainly interested.

What do I have to do to find those deals?
When/how often do they happen?

The craziest deals are around December/end of year/beginning of year.

They get posted here pretty quick and seem to last for at least a few days if not a week or so.

I have probably 12 boxes and have used about 12 sheets since my last purchase. I'm not really even sure what retail pricing is, but I could probably make you a good deal.

It's been awhile so I would expect one soon.

They do have a free box of 13x19 Semi Gloss with a $50 purchase. At least they did recently.

The last time that I know of was August and December 2016. I bought a 8 cartridge set and a 4 cartridge set. It came with about 800 sheets of paper. I sold all but 200 sheets on Craig's List. Just keep an eye on the Canon website or the Canon Price Watch website.

Good call with CPW, they have an email notification system that you can customize too.

I don't understand this. The page header says, "Buy 1 get up to 4 free." The only deals on the page are 50% off. How do you get the 4 free?

The paper deals are back, buy $30 worth of ink and get a free pack of 13 "x 19" semi gloss paper.

I never ordered from Canon Direct before, after going through PayPal for my order I was sent back to the Canon page to enter my address, only to find out that they don't ship to a P.O. box.
I called and found out that Canon uses UPS or FedEX for deliveries but because USPS does not deliver to my house my street address is not in the USPS database, I was unable to order on the website
but luckily I was able to order by phone.

I've been seeing the buy $30 of ink to get 50-pack papers very recently,
and it's an attractive offer. However, I don't think I'd want or need
200 sheets of 13x19 paper(8 ink tanks, buy 2 at a time for paper).
I'd prefer a bunch of 8.5x11.

What I'd really like is to get in on the buy-1-get-9 deals, really, just once. ;-)a

My print output isn't likely to be in any greal volume.

You can use it for smaller photos, you can print two 8"x 10", 8 1/2"x 11", 8"x 12" or 9"x 12" on one sheet of paper, or one 11"x 14", 12"x 18" or a 13"x 19". Buy a paper cutter and you get the size you need.

I had considered that,
and a stockpile of 13x19 is certainly a somewhat attractive option.
The question arises: does the PRO-100 handle such cut-offs if I'm printing a cut off 13x19?
Seems cumbersome to cut remainders into common sizes...
I would expect it will, but has anyone experience with such a scenario?

I wouldn't expect to be printing more than one or two images at a time,
unless I'd want to share a series of smaller ones with someone.

Actually, I now wonder:
Can I use Photoshop(CS6) to print more than one image to a page at whatever/varying sizes?
Hmmm. It seems I'm going into territory which belongs in another department around here.

Figure out what DPI you are using and create a new blank image that is 13" x 19" at that DPI count, for an example if you are printing at 300 DPI a new blank document would be 3900 x 5700 pixels but you just can set size in inches and then add the DPI setting.
Now just open the two photos and copy and paste each one of them onto the larger document and arrange as needed, print borderless to avoid any image resizing.

Or after making a 13" x 19" document in PS, just do one at a time and rotate the paper 180°, either way it works fine.

I see the same.
I added something to cart, but viewing cart shows quantity of 1 only.
Same as when John first posted it

Is it a promotion that ties in with an ink purchase or similar?

Many thanks for the advice; I'll experiment with these options.

Obviously, I can't predict a date, but I feel like there is one every summer, and one before Christmas. The summer one hasn't happened yet, not the biggy, so keep your eye on it. Sometimes the best deal is only a day.

I've never had any secret forwarning, nothing to do with being a member of anything, only that when it's on, I read it here or in an email. If I don't happen to get online that day, I miss it.
