How easy (or difficult) is it to hand-hold this lens and shoot? I use R/R5.

Thank you.

I find shooting it with the R5 to be fairly easy. Focusing wide open with the R5 is a breeze. I can't recall if I've used it on the R.

It is a biggish lens, and definitively heavy for 105mm, but really not a problem to hand-hold. If you are like me and are used to long telephoto lenses it is a non-issue, but even if you are not the weight is more than manageable. It is front-heavy, though, so you do feel it a bit and the adapter makes the effect more pronounced. If you hold on to the barrel (or the tripod foot) with one hand, then it is easy. I find single-hand operation doable, but it is a bit unsteady and gives the impression that it is putting too much pressure on the adapter. It is a similar feeling (at least for me) to the EF 100-400mm II in terms of weight/torque. I'll shoot off a couple of shots single-handed, on occasion, but I don't have the habit of single-hand operation with any lens. I have never used it on a tripod.

On a usability note, I find the super-telephoto style hood annoying to put on and off. The rubber at the end of the ring is nice, though. In case you haven't yet, you should check out Bryan Carnathan's review

Beautiful shots.
I just got mine. Haven't had a lot of time to use it yet.

You’ll love it. Only con about this lens is the weight, but the sharpness and bokeh makes up for it.

Thanks! yes it's a wonderful and fun lens to shoot everything with. I call it my baby-200/2 as it has similar image quality and character. :)
