Are there photo hosting places suitable for clubs, with multiple users?

I'm interested in finding a photo hosting site that is suitable for a club, where different members can upload, and all members can view the photos. This is not a photograph club. The photos are just to record events and share experiences. The site should allow captioning of the pics, and if possible, comments by members. It is OK if the site compresses the photos.

Facebook would work great, except that many people are not in Facebook and would never join, even to participate in club photo sharing.

Dropbox as I know it has the disadvantage that the pics are all downloaded to our local computer or phone, and that becomes a resource hog. It is very annoying (for instance) to be at an airport on your phone or laptop trying to get an email out when Dropbox is busy downloading pics in the background and hogging bandwidth. Also, Dropbox does not show captions as far as I know.

A website set up for the purpose is probably out of the question since we don't have the expertise, and certainly most members would not be computer-savvy.

We all know about Flickr, and I have heard of Imgur, but don't know if these places allow multiple users to upload and share photos, and if they do, how that would work. I think Flickr likes to have all pics public. It would be better if they could be private, but this is not a show-stopper.

If any of you have solutions or suggestions, I would love to hear them.

The way it works on Flickr is to start a group, and then members can post photos to the group's photostream.

I do believe that there are privacy settings that would only allow group members to see the group photos, but am not sure how that works, because everything I've done on Flickr is public.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

It seems that Yahoo does not support members that are clubs. When applying for an account, you must submit a birth date and cell phone number.

I tried to get around that by entering a club name as the name, and using a fake birth date. But the phone number (which was real) was rejected. No reason given. The help is no help.

I don't think Flickr is going to work for this.

The way it works is that you don't join Flickr as a club; all club members join Flickr as individuals, each person with their own account - and then each individual joins the group. . That's pretty much how it works everywhere.

I am a member of several groups on Flickr, and things work perfectly, with group members adding photos to the group regularly.

Seems that is the only way.

I could create the Group from my personal account, and members could add their photos to that group from their personal accounts, but there are some drawbacks. One is that everybody gets access to my other (non-club) photos (I think - that's what it implies here).

Also, there appears to be no way to organize the photos in the Group. So contributions from different events would get all mixed up. That could be dealt with by creating a new group for each event. -? IMO this is getting kind of complicated for folks who just want to share photos from an event.
