I'm not a wedding expert ... or any kind of expert for that matter :)

The first one looks a bit dark, however the background as with the other post you made is beautiful, with the low clouds really helping make the scene. The groom looks out of focus in the sample you provided.

For the second shot it's unfortunate that the dress is blown out, and it's difficult to tell with the small image if the focus was correct. I do like the selection of B&W though since I have a feeling the background would be distracting in color.

My only other comment is that IMO the wedding is all about the bride, yet for both images we don't see her face.

I'm not a wedding Photog or a pro for that matter but I have to agre w/ bob as for not see the bride's face and that the dress is blownout. On the 1st shot I find it rather soft on the face and the BG is too visible taking away from the subject.

Perhaps you should try posting in the wedding photography forum. It has experienced people there who will help you.

BTW. Which lens did you use to take those photos?

I just used the 18-55 stock lens that comes with the 20D but I edited them both in photoshop. I actually softened the color one but maybe it creates just a blur :(

I agree. Soft focus is tricky to do right. I really like the color in your first photo. Show us the "sharp" image if you are able to.

In the first image, had she turned to her torso to the left a bit, then her face a little bit more it would have placed her face in profile and would have strengthened the image immensely. As it is, one cannot see her face (in either image actually!)

The road and the chairs (I think those are chairs) are distracting in the first photo.
Second one is nice.

It looks like there are two tan chairs in the lower right of the first shot - to teh right of the bride's dress. Sorry, I should have been more specific.
