The word "course" is spelled correctly. It was not used in the proper grammatical manner. That's it.

I understand you wanted to use the word "coarse" but that does not constitute a spelling error per se. Still the word "course" was not misspelled just used incorrectly grammatically speaking.

The word "coarse" is an adjective meaning "rough" etc. The word "course" is a noun. The noun "course" can mean several things, including path, playing field, mode of behavior, etc.

So no it was not a spelling error but an error in grammatical usage.

This thread turned to garbage but that's normal around POTN.

You should have stopped typing after the first sentence. The word course, being spelled incorrectly, was the initial problem.

If I were the grammar police I'd have a full time job on POTN, including on your posts. I only bothered because Tom is one of my favourite people here and is such a stickler for detail he so rarely makes a mistake. I knew he'd react like he did. Just my little dig.
