A Bee Wolf is a solitary wasp, they stock their burrows with up to 150 honey bees.

Wow Lester, that's an incredible series. Imagine living in the insect world. It's really a cruel place with so many predators and enemies to have to deal with. Life is awful brutal in that world.

Nice set of action shots. There's a good spot near me but strangely their burrows are on a busy dirt path and one feels a bit self conscious lying down on it -?

This was by a path also, not so busy in this heat.

I have been watching and photographing them for some time, but this is the first time I have actually seen this behaviour. There is a lot of it too. I was out again today and spotted a few loaded done with a bee they had mugged.

They are much slower when loaded so I was using manual focus on these.

Excellent in flight captures Lester. Didn't even know there was such a critter. I like to see the behavior shots like that. Neat.

Could be worse the one that used to be in Bookham common was a BMX track (no longer there sadly) and you had to be careful of bikes.

Where I am you have to watch out not only for hurtling bikes but also horses, the numbers of both have risen greatly over the last few years.
