Will be seeing Johnny Football here in Ottawa for our next home game, but he will be in an Alouettes uni!

Kid from Texas who is/was way too big for his britches. Crashed hard after college, did all kinds of stupid stuff including allegations of violence toward women. Ended up being a pretty terrible NFL quarterback too.

I'm all for redemption, but this guy has a long road ahead.

Johnny Football is a nickname given to Johnny Manziel.

Any fan of college football - even a very casual fan - will know about Johnny Manziel. . He played quarterback for Texas A & M, where he broke countless records for offensive production. . He won the Heisman trophy in 2012 - as a freshman! . No one had ever done that before.

Any fairly serious fan of NFL football will know about Johnny Manziel, as he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns a few years ago.

Any fan of the CFL - even a very casual fan - will know about Johnny Manziel, as he is one of the biggest names to join the CFL in recent memory.

There has always been a lot of controversy around Johnny, as he has unprecedented talent, but seems to be wasting it. . He has been arrested for multiple crimes, missed practices because of partying the night before, and just generally not worked his butt off the way that top-level quarterbacks do. . Football does not seem to be the overriding passion of his life, to the extent that it is with guys like Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, etc. . He wants to play football, but also have fun and party and stuff like that, which you just can't do if you want to be taken seriously as a quarterback in the NFL. . This is why he failed so miserably with the Browns, and why he is no longer in the NFL.

If you do not know who "Johnny Football" is, I suspect that you do not spend much of your time watching college or pro football during the autumn and winter months.

Agree! Mike Evans basically won him the Heisman.

His first CFL start was tonight.

4 interceptions in the first half. Down 38-3.
