I received 2 pop up Like notifications for this post:

However, viewing the post there is only 1 like.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about followers, favorites, likes, and all that over-hyped social media crap.

But I thought I would let you know from a technical / programming point of view. Your call.

I like the "likes" here. In this environment it makes for nice subtle communication when full replies aren't necessary. Like a nod of accomplishment and encouragement.
