Hello
I use a canon 5dm3. The widest lens I have currently is the 17-40. I’m looking to buy something wider.
Appreciate any recommendations.
The budget would be anything below $2k.
Thanks!

Wilt Reader's Digest Condensed version of War and Peace [POTN Vol 1] More info Post edited over 5 years ago by Wilt. | Jul 12, 2018 09:28 | #4 I hope you do realize that as you widen the Angle of View of the lens, any distant detail on the horizon will shrink in size dramatically (at ultrawide AOV), losing you detail in those objects and emotional impact gained by those objects viewed with the naked eye! Note the tan house on the 'distant horizon' (green arrow points to it), can you see it in the 11mm shot?... yet this is only 1 mile away! Note the tree branch (red arrow points to it) and how it gets lost in the 11mm shot, yet it is only about 20-25' away! Ultrawide necessitates different techniques for shot effectiveness than what a lot of folks presume. You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! I get your preference, but the Σ12-24 II is 95% of the 11-24L, both at f/8-f/16, where most work of this type is done. If you are chasing DOF, you are not shooting wide open. Canon $2000 new. Sigma $450 used. I'm happy we have choices.
