My kids gave me a native plant garden a couple of years ago. One of the primrose cacti bloomed for the first time. When I observed the first of two buds, it was flowering in full sun. I thought that the colors would be better when the shade advanced on it. When I went back -- Oh Nooooo!!! it was folded up. The gave me only one more chance. It's a focus-stacked image. I had to wait for the bee to stop cavorting around the pistils, collecting pollen and rearranging them, which would have made focus-stacking difficult. Sure enough, when I went back later in the day, the flower had shriveled up. I've never seen a more bashful flower. In contrast, I have orchids that bloom for weeks on end.
