Corrects a phenomenon in which in rare instances, the operation buttons and some touch panel functions do not respond

Alas...the 6D Mark II is now perfect!

I Like the 6DmkII. I think its an all around great camera. My only gripe is the focus points concentrating on center but honesty its not that bad of an issue or not one at all to be honest.

I will install the firmware upgrade although I have not experienced those specific problems it seems to address...

If Canon had introduced the 6D Mark II at the price point at which it is now selling, IMO it would have been received better. However, they tried to gouge the most profit out of a low to mid range camera that really did not have the capabilities to match the original above two thousand U.S. Dollar price.

This camera is perfect for many uses. I don't think that there is a better camera for shooting a focus stacking series and the face recognition with live view (combined wit a Hoodman type loupe to enable me to see the damn LCD in bright sunlight) is a pretty nice combination.

The touch screen focus when using live view along with dual pixel auto focus is great. I just wish that there were a non-touchscreen method (such as a joy stick) of selecting the original focus point when I had a loupe attached.

See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goD7ikTSefw&t=20s (external link) for a YouTube series on using live view with face rcognition for shooting people. Dirkson told me that he considers that the 6D2 does a fine job focusing on the eyes even with a narrow DOF of a wide aperture 85mm lens.

However, I wish that I could place the focus point on the person's nearest eye.

The 6D2 with dual pixel AF can do a pretty darn good job following a subject across the frame once that subject is selected (by touch screen especially) I did a whole series of my wife walking towards me using live view face recognition and she kept in focus during the entire series.

I updated a couple of days ago and it was painless. Had not experienced any of the problems. Didn't use EOS Utility, just a card.
