Canola Field

I've been keeping an eye out for a good canola photo for the last 4-5 years. This is the first time I thought I'd found something to work off the intense yellow. Unfortunately having the water upfront really limited what I could with composition because anything wide really made the water the focal point.

I've been hoping to find flax near a canola field but nobody seems to plant it anymore. I remember oceans of blue when I was younger.

I think the shot will make into my landscape portfolio with knowledge that I hope to supplant it with something better someday.

I think the water is a plus for color and composition. Have you thought of cropping off some sky to change this scene to a horizontal format? Most of the interest is in the lower half.
