Thanks Richard! It's been unusually dry here but rain over the last two days brought the frogs out.

I was trying to get a good shot of the Sooty Oystercatchers the other day when the autofocus decided the background was more important :-)
Taken at East Point, Darwin.

I can't imagine what it would be like living in that environment.
Here snakes are the worst one can get and they don't bother me but those things!
Interesting life on the coast photo Ulrike.
Those Sooties are beautiful birds
I assume they'd be on that monsters menu

The first time I looked at this photo, I entirely missed the reptile. Your autofocus is sharper than I am. Admittedly, I was tired, but still.

Haha, you are in good company - I didn't even realise there was a crocodile in the background until I looked at the photos on my computer :-)

There was still space between the Sooties and the croc :-) We don't usually see them so close to the city (the crocs!), but this is certainly a reminder that there are in the water!!

Pobblebonk, Fun to say that name. Who came up with that name, was it the indigenous people?

Yes, it's a great name! It refers to the sound they make.

Lovely.
I'm curious Stephen. With all those frogs are snakes thriving, increasing?

That's natural life Charles.
Opportunity strikes.
Australia is a land of contrasts. When the rains come so does the wildlife.
It's uncanny how things happen.
Snakes are just part of that
