CanonRumors has a CR3 article indicating that two of the 4 white primes (300/4 II, 400/2.8 II, 500/4 II and 600/4 II) may be getting Version IIIs at Photokina. That would be pretty interesting. Not sure how they get even better. Only thing I can think of is that the weight gets shaved further. Plus, that would drive down the price of a 600/4 II which I have an eye on, now that the 600 DO seems to be just fantasy. :D

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

.
They could trash the existing focusing system and replace it with an entirely new system like the Sony has in their new 400 f2.8

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
