You have an interesting tree, a flower bush, a fence that almost bisects the photo and a house. What is it a photo of? The house is an afterthought.

I agree. The foreground and back ground (house) look like they don't belong in the same shot. It seems to be an ordinary box house.

Would opening up the apeture to blur the foreground have helped? Or just less foreground?

Looks a little too cyan for my taste. How was your WB set? Does this seem more natural?

The shadows are diff a bit more blue than I think they should. I actually didnt notice that till I saw your edited photo. My LCD screen isn't the best with color reproduction. It does look a bit more natural without the blue toned down.
