I have a new computer at work with the newest version of Windows. It used to be easy to resize multiple images in Windows, just highlight all the file names, right click, and select resize. That option is no longer available. I have no need to edit photos at work other than to re-size. They're just snapshots of job sites that get inserted into a report. My snappy cam is set to take the smallest size image, but I still need to adjust them for the report (using MS Word). My current method is to take the data card home and do it on my mac, then dropbox them to myself. Searching for a quick and easy way to re-size multiple images in the latest Windows version without buying software and preferably without loading third-party software. Thanks.

Can't you just resize them in Word? (It's years since I used it but pretty sure you used to be able to).

After resizing the image files at home and dropping the image into Word/Excel, I also change the image dimensions individually within the document. I'm searching for a way to resize the file of all of the images using Windows so I don't have to do it at home. I'll still have to change their dimension individually after importing. Changing dimensions doesn't change the file size to any significant amount, as I understand it.

That feature has never been part of Windows. Your old computer had a utility installed. Microsoft used to have something called Powertoys which were free add-ons. I believe that project dies long ago, but their image resizer has spawned clones. I use the one below which does the same thing and is very convenient.

In Word (not sure about Excel) you can 'compress' the pictures after you resized and cropped them (-> right click on the picture, choose picture and then in the pop-up window you see a button bottom left that says 'compress').
For me this never provides very satisfying results in terms of file size and if file size is critical, I just convert to PDF.
If you are willing to install third party software then I would recommend FastStone (external link). Is free and has a powerful mode to manipulate large batches of pictures.
