Your opinions on which lens to pick.....

Just an update: After several tries to like this lens, I just cant get past the drab colors I get with it. I returned it for a credit and I'm going to buy the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 is ii with a 1.4x extender.

Canon just has better contrast and color depth in this lens range

I have the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 and have been very happy with it. I have shot several times with the Canon 70-200L f2.8II and I really can't tell any difference (at my skill level, anyway!)

I think every kit needs a good 70-200. I've had the f4 IS version and currently have the 2.8 IS Ver II. I would look to get one of the 2.8 IS versions unless size and weight is an issue. A used 70-200 f4 IS is always a great option. These lenses are versatile and sharp.

Agree. I am watching for a deal to come up on the f/4 v2 to replace my v1.
