Beautiful Weja, you are lucky to find on perched, I have only ever found them in-flight.

Unfortunately cannot get to the normal locations for a lot of my wildlife photography with the UK lockdown, at least not without risking constable Savage.

Hi Fred:

You might first check out the info available on the Internet. The first site below is general, the second is specific to Montana. There are other sites. Also there is a book specific to the West: "Dragonflies and Damselflies of the West." I don't know how good it is; perhaps others can comment.

Dragonflies are fun to photograph, so grab your camera and post some shots!

Thanks for the information. I became interested in dragonflies a year or two ago, and the moreI learned the more they fascinated me: the overwhelming variety, the complexity of their bodies, the fact they are one of the oldest creatures on earth.
