Hi Stephen

Not this time, just the bare lens at pretty much the close focus distance. It was unusual that the DF did not fly away as I slowly inched forward, they normally fly off even if I just look at them.:-)

Autumn Meadowhawk, hearty fellows. I have never seen one in December in Indiana though; they are usually done in with the first killing frost, here, late October. More info:

"Autumn Meadowhawk (Sympetrum vicinum) is a common late-season dragonfly. This is one of the most cold-hardy dragonflies in North America, frequently persisting into November or December during milder weather, provided nights don't drop far below freezing."
