Beautiful capture Dalantech !

Seems like lots of deleting frames and 2x and above run hand and hand. :)
Especially when one factors in hand holding And active critters!

Field shooting as well. If I was in a studio shooting something inactive I could nail every frame.

Fabulous photo! I am curious about Sharpen AI and Clarity? I purchased Topaz Denoise AI the other day as it was just amazing. I see you tend to use all 3 of these filters. Would you recommend I also add Sharpen AI and Clarity to the mix? Who makes Clarity?

I'm not sure if there is a huge difference between the sharpening in Denoise AI and Sharpen AI. Clarity is made by Topaz Labs but they've discontinued it in favor of Adjust AI (I don't like it as much as I like Clarity).

This Sweat Bee was foraging for nectar in a Sunflower and while I was tracking it with the camera it "paused" for a brief second to do some antenna maintenance.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (2x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Clarity in that order.

Thanks Dalantech for the reply. I will stick with Denoise AI for now. I also still use Topaz Adjust 5 pretty much on every photo (just the Classic Collection). I can't decide whether to upgrade to Topaz Studio 2 - not really sure it gives me anything else I need.

Those are some great colours.

Thanks. That day the light was right, the sky was really blue and the Eastern Redbud was in beautiful bloom.

Having a go at capturing some bee photos today. Still have the Gary Phong on a Speedlite - I am sure a twin flash would be much better - though perhaps not the double light reflection.

I had until been now attempting to photograph these bees inside white flowers in the hedge but I was not getting enough light into the flowers so much easier to light them when they are not inside a flower. I was mighty close to them so hope they are all friendly. I was lucky to find one taking a break on the wall of the garage.

That is amazing detail you have captured. Do you have a full set of extension tubes on? You must be very brave as you must be very close to that bee:)

Just the largest one, I think it's 38 or 40. Bees and bumblebees are no problem, only wasps I'm not comfortable with.

Normally I try to make the critters that I photograph look cute and cuddly. But I'm not sure that's possible when shooting a portrait of a Mammoth Wasp (Megascolia maculata), the largest wasp in Europe. This female was foraging for nectar in my Sunflowers so I injected Agave nectar into one of them to give her a reason to let me get close. She lays her eggs on European rhinoceros beetle larva, and we have them in my yard.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F14, 1/250, ISO 200) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (over 1x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Clarity in that order.
