I created three sets of images:

1) Without color changes - Set to "Camera Standard" with Auto WB
2) With WB Adjustment
3) With ColorChecker Profile

Four pictures per set, one per modifier I used (Umbrella, Softbox, Dish, Dish+Grid.)

See what you think!

First reaction is that everything is under exposed. The white square should read 93% in Lightroom and the black square about 13%.
Once you have exposure correct it will be easier to see. Other observation is that whites looks blue.
Is your monitor calibrated?

I was unaware about the percentages, thank you! How do I check it?

And yes, with DispCAL using a colorimeter that was profiled with my spectro. Yours?

I agree with DMWard about underexposure. I imported your Standard vs. WB Correct file into Lightroom and the histogram shows ALL PIXELS being left of midline of the histogram. The eyedropper tool measured the 18% gray patch of the ColorChecker at about 40-40-38 (R-G-B). When I lifted Exposure by about 0.5EV, the same patch would measure about 50-50-50 (but with lower Blue channel)

Top row of images interrogating the white patch of the leftmost image shows Blue channel about 2 units high (90-90-29), while the lower image white patch measures Blue channel about 2 units low (90-90-88)

Given the fact that you were using an umbrella, I have to assume that your umbrella would usually warm slightly an absolute neutral electronic flash source.

Use Lightroom to measure the brightness of the squares. Set the reference area to relatively large number of pixels to ensure a smooth, accurate reading.

All of my monitors are calibrated.

Hope you aren't OCD.

Depending on you goals, you might have to make some pretty strange adjustments to get close to those grey patch numbers. Unless you're doing high end product photography where nailing every color is critical, I would suggest just using the color checker as a baseline to estimate color by the numbers and insure your monitor isn't way off.

Fwiw, for product stuff I like my "black" RGB values @ 43-45 then

85
133
175-180
210-215
243

For portraits I don't think I have ever used a color checker, I just make it look right.
