They are fun to watch and photograph. Sadly, our newly introduced grey wolves have pretty much decimated the moose population in our area.ߘ

I have three wolf packs very close to me and know just what your talking about. 4 years ago I had 30 to 40 deer being down in the back yard daily.. Last year I seen 4 or 5 all winter with a few stray deer here and there. IMO we need to stop the Moose hunt for a couple years or cut way back to let them get going again. Theres no one that will go hungry .. we have stores on every corner. I know some guys will kick up a fuss.. maybe they would rather come home skunked every year.

I am in a protected zone and shooting wolves is band here.

Nice shot Terry, sorry to hear about the Moose population. You guys can have all the wolves you want, oh, uh, I bet you already do!

I hear ya Jeff. Wolves not protected anymore where I live. A noticeable decline in the deer and elk populations also.
Some areas are pretty much devoid of big game. My neighbor watched two wolves kill a deer last winter. He said it went pretty quick. Had a wolf come through my backyard a couple of springs ago. Thought my wife was going to have a coranary. Wolves do tend to create a lot of discussion in these parts.ߘ

The wolves are in my yard regular. Last summer they would wake us coming through the bush howling and snarling, then as a pack call and howl just outside the bedroom window. That will wake you up I in a hurry. They took deer in yards in the middle of the day. The wolves have evolved here in the last 30 years gone from here is the super large timberwolf at least for the most part. They want to call this new wolf the Algonquin wolf. Its a fitting name... funny though... I think cars are still the main killer of the Moose and Deer. Stupid but true.
One species that needs to be regulated...............Man!

What a coincidence. Our giant wolves come from Canada.
