Just a thought, and I have no clue how hard it would be to do...but I find it annoying spelling photography-on-the.net, I usually spell photography-on-the-net.com or something stupid.

What about POTN.net, POTN.com is already used, and POT.net might attract a lot of stoners, pretty soon we'd have tye-dye'd avatars and those little dope smoker Smiley's.

And have a redirect page telling people the address has changed and routing them over here.

I know it's silly, it just bugs me sometimes and I'm sure it bugs others to. Just food for thought. Don't ban me!! :D

You wouldn't need a redirect page. Both addresses could point to the same server, so it would work no matter which address you typed in the address field. Like with my web site. Both of these addresses will take you to the same place: http://www.decloedt.com/ (external link) or http://www.ldphotography.net/ (external link)

But, can't you just bookmark this site so you don't have to type the address in every time?

No big problem for me.

There's a nice feature available on many browsers that's called 'favourites'

Best regards,

I don't think it bugs anyone that uses bookmarks, links or URL shortcuts. In both IE and FF, I have a button that is labeled "POTN" that takes me to all the posts I've subscribed to. Click on "User CP" and then click on "New Subscribed Threads." Then bookmark this address. Alternatively, you can use this URL (https://photography-on-the.net …n.php?do=viewsubscription) as long as you checked the "Remember Me?" box when you log in.

Yeah I have it in my Favs too, but it's 1 out of 647. Makes it a little hard to find so I just end up typing it everytime.

So rename it with a '_' leading char, and sort your favs alphabetically. If you have 647 favs that you regularly use, I recommend deleting 600 of them, and getting a life outside of the internet.

Only special bookmarks go in my toolbar!

Yes, POTN is one of them.

Thanks for looking!

Better still, set it as your "homepage"... then you'll never have to type the URL again!

IE has this too, but I still prefer FF.

stick it in your favs, drag it to the top of the list and change the name to aaaaa potn. (this way it will stay there. and its easy to find being its the first thing. also, put it in a folder in your faves called Photography. saves time finding it. I have an over stuffed folder of photography stuff in my faves right now...lol

Create an html document with links to your favs and save on your harddrive. Use it for your homepage.
