RRS BG-E20L - Anyone else notice this issue?

I recently purchased a 5DM4 with Canon's battery grip (BG-E20) and the Really Right Stuff L bracket (BG-E20L). After assembling, I noticed there is NO accessory on the RRS L-bracket to screw in my connector to my camera strap (Black Rapid). The RRS L-bracket for my 5DM3 w/battery grip has one and so did my 20D L-plate. I spoke with Shane at RRS today and when I asked him about this, he apparently hadn't known about this. He said all of the other L brackets have the accessory screw hole and he has no idea why this one doesn't. He said they've been selling this L bracket for 2 years and no one has brought this to their attention. I was shocked. Usually, RRS gets every detail right. I really like their stuff but I'm really surprised & let down by this. I'll live, but still.

Confirmed later this afternoon by RRS, the engineers admitted this was omitted by mistake & they're looking at a solution. Yay!

I'm looking at the RRS 6DIIbracket 6D2-L and it does not have a 1/4" threaded hole either.

My old universal plate BP-CS has one as do my lens plates (which are also a couple of years old). I'm not sure that I've ever used one.

Thanks for your input. The L bracket for the 5DM4 w/battery grip is modular. It has a base plate that can be used alone and it DOES have an accessory socket for the Black Rapid connector. However, when you attach the L bracket module, there is NO accessory socket. Thus, the only way the Black Rapid system can be used is to remove the L-bracket then put it back on when you need to use it vertically. A very poor solution. I really think they must have forgotten to add it because there's plenty of space.

You could go to the hardware store and buy a 1/4"-20 tap, a drill bit ($5), and a tap wrnch ($7)

Tap drill for 1/4-20 is a #7 drill. 13/64 is a suitable alternative.
