Girl and her horse

Haven't done much in the way of this style... Thoughts?

The first one is nice. The second i would add some vignette just force the eye to focus on her. The third one is great just tighten the crop.

Agree with the comment on the third shot. The top 20-25% adds nothing to the shot, and includes power lines, the bane of all photographers. I really like the eye contact in the second shot. Again crop to a traditional 4x5 (8x10) and loose the extra on the top and your create more focus. Again, same on the first shot. Not sure the power poll adds to much to the image on the right, and the fence post on the far left (far 1%) of image don't add anything to the photo.

I generally like wide format shots - but have yet to find a good fit when shooting portrait orientation. I generally am bored with the standard 8x10 or 5x7 formats.... but they have lasted this long because they do work for the most part.

The second is the only one I'd think of keeping. But I'm a horse owner... so I'd want my horse to look as good as the women.

I like the sepia-tone. Try cropping it to just inside the utility pole.

I agree about cropping the top off the second. I would be tempted to darken and desaturate the orange building in the background.

The one with the tree growing out of the horse's back, well that. And the utility lines. The subjects are both facing left toward the short side. A better composition would be to have them looking into the center rather than out an edge -- the same pose, but farther to the right. There's an overall bluish cast and low contrast on my monitor. I'm not sure if this was an effect that you applied, but it's not pleasing to my eye.
