They always start out at the bottom of the tree trunk en work upwards, but now and then make a short u-turn, so you can catch them upside down, but that did not work with this one... There are a few incoherent letters that I can read, two "A"'s, but nothing I can make any sense of, although I know nothing about the information printed on these rings. I know that the bird was captured and held in human hands though: I visited a bird ringing station a few years ago. Ah, right. Wild Birds of Europe

DocRoger Senior Member More info | Mar 09, 2021 22:21 | #2288 Been a little too quiet here....spring is coming! Here are a couple of Cedar Waxwing shots. I got lucky and while driving through a parking lot noticed a flock of birds feeding in a tree. I thought they were Robins but pulled-over to get a closer look - jackpot! Not too much bird activity there this time of year, much less than what I typically see back home. Not a big deal though, as I had zero time to shoot because my two kids were a handful Image hosted by forum (1092256) © MatthewK [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. I was hunting Stellar's Jay (which have now eluded me now on two separate trips out west) and had to settle for this cousin Jay instead. Only got off this one shot before my toddler had a meltdown and scared away every living creature in a 50 yard radius. After reporting the sighting, they always send me the bird's life history. Fascinating stuff. Levina in the naicon thread????
