Levina in the naicon thread???? :D

what happen to your awesome title???

BAAN!!
How are you?!

I almost switched to Nnnn...nn..ikon :p when I had nowhere to go with Canon. But then Canon launched the R6 and I jumped on it. Couldn’t be happier now.

As to my title, yeah. Long story. An overly zealous mod took it away as a form of punishment. Can you believe that? Of all the petty things. I’ve put it in my sig now. It’s not the same, but oh well...

It’s good to see you again, my friend. We had some good times. Seems all too many of the old gang have moved away from POTN.

Its a shame that I miss the old bantar mind you I asked for a lot of what I got - was too eager to learn - too slow to take advice.

Here a few of my recent encounter with a Skylark, there was a small group visiting the Isle "Schiermonnikoog", which was a special happening as they are virtually extinct elsewhere in my country.

one year later.... :D

Oh wow. My title is back! That’s a really nice surprise. I never wanted one, then got one and it grew on me. I’ll remove it from my sig in a bit.

I did say I wouldn’t get a mirrorless anytime soon, did I? :-P But honestly, who would’ve thought that Canon would make something so awesome as the R5 and R6? I did look at Sssso... the other one..., but they felt really bad in the hand. After holding one for 5 minutes in the shop my hand was hurting.

Yeah, not too many bats around now. I’m not that active on the board either any more. Maybe we’re all suffering a bit from forum fatigue. Cool that you took up archery. Not an easy sport, much upper body strength needed I think. Strong arms. Can’t eat too much ramen now! Discipline, Baan!

A pair of Black-headed gulls. It was very early in the morning last may, I wonder what they were so concentrated on, each other or distant calls...
This is one of my favorite gulls, I especially like the red color tone of their legs and beeks, a very rare color tone.

They surely are beautiful birds.
Interesting colours indeed. Even their throats are similar.
You've captured them very nicely.

Took the dog for a walk, had zero intention of taking photos, but it was just perfect winter light. Couldn't resist that siren's call, and this Brown Thrasher was gracious enough to show face for a couple of shots, which goes a long way in helping me break out of this cursed slump I'm in...

Thanks, waiting for the month of may right now, when bird migration peaks, the breeding season is on, and I will be revisiting the Isles. City life is becoming very hectic where I live, so watching and shooting birds is becoming kind of therapeutic for me.

I am reading that Nikon is discontinuing the manufacture of this lens?
https://nikonrumors.com …r-lens-discontinued.aspx/ (external link)

WTF?

Hopefully this just means that it is being updated, but seriously there is STILL and unfulfilled waiting list on this lens.

This is spreading too fast without any substantial evidence. Perhaps an employee sleeping at work, or mistaking the 500PF for the discontinued older 500/4.
I would simply wait a while and this will clear up. The 500PF isn't going anywhere is my guess

I agree - its a Steller lens and far too important to Nikon and buyers.

Hopefully this is just a mistake, the lens is back ordered still at my closest camera store and I don’t have mine yet.

Oh man, if they discontinue the 500PF, expect the used values to sky rocket. Real estate, Bitcoin, 500PFs, hot commodities these days!

The only reason I could even think Nikon might be discontinuing the lens is if they can’t manufacture enough fresnel elements to supply a Z mount version of the lens and they want a stockpile for the Z9 converts.

One just sold on Ebay for $3350 +$35 shipping, that is too close to retail price for a new one in my opinion, it may end up being a good deal if the supply dries up.
