OK, permit me to place here an image not from the 500PF. My believe that is you love
the 500PF you will also love the 300PF.
With the 1.4.
And Matt the 300PF will also take a 2.0TC like horse and carriage.

I got this little guy today at lunch & it made me think of this post. Image hosted by forum (989902) © EyeSpyEagle [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Will keep the 300PF in mind, it's definitely on a short list of potentials EyeSpyEagle wrote in post #18898817 I got this little guy today at lunch & it made me think of this post. I had a single focus point on the black to red transition on his face, from about 40ft. On the iMac, in LR or Topaz, you can clearly see feather strands lift by the leaf in from of him. Seems like a good test case for the typical settings I'm usually shooting in, thanks Phil!

Cluttered environments and close-up small creatures. These were shot out my car window, about 12ft from a tree in the parking lot during lunch today. All shot with D500, 500PF + 1.4x TC. Edit: Kinda bummed... These look about 50% better on my screen (even the jpgs), before uploading. ![]() ![]() Hosted photo: posted by EyeSpyEagle in ./showthread.php?p=18898852&i=i107283505 forum: Nikon Lenses Sometimes I wonder how they fly with such a huge pollen load. flickr

I tried tubes a few years ago on my 120-300 with a 2.0tc and it took a lot of extension to make much difference at 600m. And when I had 12, 20 and 36mm tubes stacked there was a bit of play in the whole assembly.
