Compare it to any of my hummers from this year (which is a big fat zero), and looks darned fine to me.

Favorite in this series. Just an awesome looking you pose.

Thank you, Robert. Much appreciated!

We get two brief windows with these guys - In the fall, as they head to South America and in the spring when the pass through on their way to parts north.

Went out on Saturday morning at like 7AM, and it was almost dark out. Super high ISOs employed here!

I've said things like this before,. but I am going to do it again anyways.

If there were a brick and mortar store nearby that I could breeze into on my way home from work, that had this lens and a nice Nikon body to try it on,. I VERY likely would end up having it with me the rest of the way home.

Being removed from my immediate grasp is the ONLY thing keeping me removed from this lens.

Appreciate it, Phil, thanks!

With the current noise reduction processes, I've completely changed my view shooting APS-C bodies at higher ISOs. Previous to this D500, I would break a sweat when seeing ISO go over 1200, but now I'm not even fazed at 6400. Even the new Canon 90D is working out well in this arena. With all that, I no longer feel the need to have a FF body.

That's a good deterrent, Jake. What I did for this 500PF, was get on a wait list, in the hope that it would take so long to come in that I'd move on from the GAS, and when my name came up I'd comfortably pass. Of course, I unknowingly got on the one waitlist where they jumped me in line because I put a downpayment, and they called me a week later. Done deal.

And you know what: I'm friggin 100% happy it happened that way, because since then it's totally changed how I shoot, and gotten me shots I don't think I would have with the heavier gear.

I'm still hanging on to my 600 III, but there's been a few times as of late that I thought about posting it up for sale. The 90D has staved off that action for now, but if I'm honest with myself, I don't need the bigger gear anymore. Letting go is tough

Road trip! :)

Like Matt said, it really can / does change the way one shoots. I, too, have a 600F4 but it rarely gets much action after the addition of the 500PF.

That's a neat shot, Robert. It has a real 3D feel - like I could reach right into the image.

Thanks Phil. Appreciated.
You might not know but I'm shooting the Sony 200600G a lot now. The 500PF is like lifting a feather compared :)
