I want to say, I really appreciate this forum. I appreciate the kindness (for the most part) and most of all, MATURE discussion and debate that's found here. Whether you're a hobbyist or professional, this photography thing can be very polarizing. Yet somehow, despite our different brands, makes, models, and opinions, this forum remains (in my opinion) by far the most civil place to talk about this passion we all have.
With the release of the new Nikon mirrorless camera, the internet (especially Facebook) has exploded with insults and attacks between brands. Thankfully I have not seen much (if any) of that here. While passionate, it seems the majority of users here realize it's more about the person behind the camera than it is the name on the camera itself.
Unfortunately, elsewhere on the internet, it seems users of the brand that I've chosen have a tendency to be one of the nastiest fan bases of any brand. I've experienced this first hand numerous times. Sony users are negative about anything and everything, including their own brand and other users of that brand. But once again, the Sony threads on POTN are wonderful places to hang out, full of helpful and mature discussion.
That's not saying everything here is perfect, but as far as online forums or discussion groups go, this place has been, by far, the best experience I've had online. And for that, I just wanted to say thank you POTN!
