So they have an option for 20GBs or 1TB worth of photo storage.
My question is what do I need storage for? Is this a host for my photos or Just a place to store them?

I know this doesn't answer your question, but in light of Adobe's cloud / subscription platform, I tried Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop to replace my version 5.1. It's cheaper and it's just as good. Some things are slightly different, but to actually a own a local copy of a good editing software beats out any of the refined features of Photoshop that may be better.

I have 2019 Paint Shop Pro and it's close to Adobe. I just wanted to give Photoshop a try since it seems 80% use it.

You may not find you use their cloud storage....but you can use it for anything. Companies will use it for being able to share files, stock photos, or fonts (as examples of other assets).

Adobe have Desktop/Laptop versions of PS/Lightroom and Tablet/Phone versions. If you go with the former you are going to store original files on your local machine so need less cloud storage. If you opt for the latter you will have less local storage so the system is designed to use the cloud (and may require much more storage).

Are you just planning to just get Photoshop only? If you get LR CC (not LR Classic CC or also called LR7) it is designed for mollie applications so you have to use the cloud. Otherwise with desktop apps you have a choice to sync to cloud. Cloud storage comes with the plan, whether you use it or not.

I was thinking just Photoshop, unless I need Lightroom?!?! Isn't Lightroom a management program for pictures? Or an organizer?

Sorry, I have no clue

Have you noticed a speed improvement in PSP 2019, they claim that there is one.
I am a happy, very long time PSP user, since a Few years before Lightroom, and I usually drag my feet deliberately before upgrading to a newer version of PSP, since stores discount PSP version Y shortly before/after PSP version Z is launched, so it is cheaper to get a Full version on DVD from a retailer rather than an Upgrade Download from Corel.

Perish the thought of having data caught in the Cloud, where time to transfer lots of data can involve many, many hours to send.

Don't know if you need it but why pay $20 a month for the Single app plan when for $10 you can get both with the Photography plan. You can't pick and choose which app you want with Photography plan, just how much storage you want. It comes with 20GB unless you need a TB.

With the Photography plan your get the following apps. You don't have to install all of them if you don't want to.

1. LR Classic CC. LR7 which is the LR6 upgrade.

2. PS CC

3. LR CC version 1. This was introduced in October of 2107. Designed for mobile applications and is 100% cloud based file storage.

4. You get a free website via portfolio but you may get it as well with other 2 plans.

5. A few other apps that design web graphics/pages, etc.

You just need PC CC and not LR? What are you doing that you just need PS? Most people want LR and take PS because it comes with it. LR is ACR on steroids that is always open, has a catalogue system and more features. It is geared more for photo editing while PS is a pixel editor. Of course photo editing can be done using PS.

You realize you don't purchase it. No perpetual license. I'm just just asking because of the thread title. It is a subscription plan. Do you have experience with PS? There are other standalone's out there like Affinity that are inexpensive. Not sure $10 may be worth it just for PS unless you are a designer.

I have the plan and using LR Classic and PS CC. There is no way into the cloud unless I go to the CC install app, select the Assets - Files tab and choose to Sync my files to the cloud. I don't have a single file in the cloud. That is why I haven't installed LR CC yet. I may one day.

Nice to learn that photo file storage is not via the Cloud!

Having the choice was the deciding factor for me.

I use Paint Shop Pro at the moment. I was just wanting to get Photoshop to see how different it was and if I liked it better. So, I have no clue about Lightroom?!? So if it is a photo editor, maybe that's what I should be comparing to PSP?
I've used PSP for the last 12 years so I really dont know what else is out there or what would help me edit better/faster

Sorry I don't know anything about PSP. I did a quick check and it says it is a raster and vector graphics editor. That is what PS does but is that what you need or are you just editing photos?

Here is a basic video about LR. There is also a brush section and radial/graduated filters.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
