Just got my 5D in the mail, can't wait to use it. Sadly, lens and CF card aren't here yet because Amazon is slow :( But man I think I might have got a good one. $270 from Roberts Camera / UsedPhotoPro. Practically in mint condition. Minor scratch on top LCD that is basically invisible, minor scuffs on bottom that seem to be already touched up with some black paint, and that's pretty much it. Has the mirror fix, I saw it in the sales photo's and the serial starts with 29. Which is close to one of the last batches produced.

You couldn't tell it wasn't brand new unless you were eyeballing it closely. Rubber grips are all in new looking condition, back screen is scratch free, buttons all seem fine, viewfinder is great, hotshoe looks like it was never used, camera strap outlets look to be never used. Whoever had it definitely took care of it and hopefully didn't use it much. Way better condition than you see in the ones on ebay for $350+. The moment of truth though will be seeing if the sensor is good and clear and the shutters operation, which I'll wait until I get the lens to do. But just looking at it, I'm already in love. Looks like it spent most of its life on a tripod since there is a minor wear ring around the mount screw area. It could have 50K+ clicks on it for all I know, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it had less than 10K clicks.

Love the "3D" effect I was able to achieve with this shot. The 5D is one, remarkable beast of a camera, even to this day!

Flaring from the Cheniere Plant near Portland, made for a great backdrop to the USS Lexington last night.

Photo taken from downtown Corpus Christi, TX.

Man there's some dirty price fixing going on in the camera market. The 85mm 1.8 I bought a week ago for $300 is now suddenly $370 everywhere, even though its been $300 for years now. Kinda like how every time someone makes a youtube video about the 5D classic, the prices jump almost instantly. I remember earlier last year prices for the 5D jumped to nearly $700 for a while. Massive price gouging. Amazon still hasn't shipped it (even though I ordered it over a week ago), but I talked to them to see if there was payment issues or anything and they said it's all fine, but said if I want to try to get it quicker, then I should cancel and re-order. I was like heck no! It's like they're trying to trick people into paying more. Glad I got in before the jump in price. EF mount may not be entirely dead yet, but it's basically about to be a dead mount system considering Canon's new RF mount. Prices for EF should be dropping like rocks or at least not rising, especially considering all the people both Nikon and Canon lost to Sony. Watch, I bet you that the 50mm 1.8 will rise from $125 to like $200 in the next month.
