I shot birds with it for some 6 months or so. I then bought a used 1DIIN because of the 5D's shutter lag. But it could still perform:

Isn't that amazing, Chet?
That was a fierce winter and the world was covered with snow and that functioned as a giant reflector, bouncing the light up. Beautiful, soft light. I haven't seen a winter like that for some years now. But look at the underside of the Heron, it's just as well and evenly lit as the dorsal side. Really amazing.

Levina inspired me to attach the 150-600 and noticed the 5Dc does just fine with its early AI Servo version, but also noticed I really missed the reach of my 7D2 lol.

Usually you want to keep an eye out for one with the mirror reinforcement done, otherwise they can fall out. I don't know if it's very common these days, but it can happen. I think someone here glued their mirror back in when it fell out, lol. Can't beat it for $200.

Most 5D's today will have had the mirror fix done, and most likely especially from Adorama. I believe they stand behind their equipment.
Congrats on your new purchase. :-)

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Very very cool, Will.
I often thought to buy the Sigma or Tamron G2 thinking I could try it out with the 5Dc. Didn't do it of course. Also didn't think it would work well and here you are with the pics. Even got a BIF! Did I say this is cool? Yeah, it is!

Thank you

Is there anyway (other than tugging on the mirror) that you can tell if it has had the fix done?

Yes Adorama stands behind the cameras

am I correct in thinking the the 5Dc doesn't have auto ISO?

Maybe I am showing my age, but that rather than being a game changer takes me back to my roots as a Navy Photographer in the early 70's

Back then and until I went digital I often carried 2 or 3 camera/lens combos with different types of film, slide, color neg, B&W or different ASA ( for you youngsters that is the same as ISO)
If you went into a different lighting situation where you needed 400 rather than 100 you either used the other body or changed film in the middle and wrote off the unexposed shots (36 on a large roll).

This should actually be fun since now I use auto ISO all the time because I can....

If there are small strips left and right of the mirror to keep it in place, like in this image, it's done.

That's correct, Jeff. You have to set it yourself, I'm afraid.

not a big deal at all, I often shoot in manual and set the iso, takes me back to my roots with the Leica M3, Nikon F3 and my original camera a Pentax Spotmatic

I want a DSLR I will just leave in the car and also have fun with, could leave my Olympus Tough in it or use my android (as I often do) but I just wanted one!

I still find the images I took on this camera match up in quality to my cameras since.

here is the inside of the "new" 5D

I notice that with a 32 gig card in the camera it only sees 8 gig.
