It was our fist night getting acquainted with our home away from home, the "backie" tents.    That first night our camp was visited by a small handful of free roaming Hippo,. Liz slept through it! I don't have any photos of that, it was near pitch black, but the following morning we set out on a nice boat trip into the Okavango itself!    GEAR LIST

A juvenile African Jacana, slightly more mute colors than the adults, but adorable, It hasn't quite realized it's not a typical wading bird yet.   Never seen two woodies at a time before;  and of course, my friend the Pied Kingfisher was out in the Delta as expected;   GEAR LIST

I don't imagine anything would leap up there, but we know for a fact that those tents are pretty much exactly "elephant tusk height" GEAR LIST
