Greetings - hope you can help! I managed to pick up what was called a 'lightly used' G1X recently on Fleabay, and whilst the camera is looking clean I am unsure as to whether it is up to par lens-wise. Can you have a look at the images below and tell me anything that might help quell my suspicions that the camera might be not 100%? The camera arrived this morning and try as I can I cannot find a sweet spot for it in manual or P. I am, however, wondering whether it is my computer screen's resolution that is mucking things up as I have a 6 year-old Macbook on its last legs.

Shot in P mode, on a surface, on timer. EXIF will load hopefully.

Apologies for the mess - we had a hell of an unexpected storm last night and we're drying out the childrens' summer camp.

Here's another if anyone cares to look and give an opinion. I really do not know but thought the output would be clearer with more dynamic range,

I've only had my G1X for a few weeks now but I think your photos look fine.

You do? Crikey, I hope so - thank you for that, Shane. Have you worked out your best settings yet for landscape? DR correction and so on???

I shoot manual mode and RAW so I don't know if the DR settings come into play. I'm not sure what the best aperture is but I typically stop down a bit. I've been very happy with the results I've gotten.

Thanks for the reply, Shane. I've been getting to grips with mine too, and suspect my expectations were too hight to start with. I'm sure mine is fine too when I stick with the subjects it suits best. The Night Scene mode is very impressive, for sure!

They look OK to me, sweet spot is usually f5.6 or f8.0 which is what you have in the EXIF Data. All those shots have light and dark areas to challenge the sensor, they look OK on my monitor.

Myself I,m almost always shooting RAW in AV mode.

Canon 5D mk3, 50mm 1.4, 17-40L, 70-200L, 100-400L, Canon 100L macro, Canon 2 x G1X, Speedliite 430 EX all supported by Gitzo and Benro.
