I use FlashPoint R2 Trigger on Canon 6D and Godox X1R reciever for Speedlite 430EX (off camera). Both transmitter and reciever are set on channel 1 group A. I can trigger the flash from the transmitter but when the power is set on the transmitter the X1R reciever does not change the power on the flash. Does anyone have experience with this setup and can guide me? Thanks.

I don't think the 580EX and 430EX are compatible with the R2 receiver. Flash Havoc's coverage of the X1C triggers (external link) says (bold mine):

The X1-C are separate transmitter and receiver units, with X1-C receivers being compatible with MK II style Canon compatible speedlites like the 580EX II and 600EX-RT etc.

My guess is that the R2 triggers basically use the camera menu communication capability to control remote flashes, and the 430EX and 580EX (and 550EX) pre-date the Digic 4 introduction of the flash control menu in the camera.

Yongnuo's YN-622 triggers, similarly, were only partially communicating with my 430EX and 580EX. I could only get power control with TTL and FEC; not with M ratios.

It's one of the main reasons I ditched my 430EX/580EX for a used 580EXII.

I'm a woman. I shoot with a Fuji X100T, Panasonic GX-7, Canon 5DmkII, and 50D. flickr stream (external link)
