I am going to Borneo and Singapore in a week.

Not hoping much for Singapore, seen from Astronomy shots, but Borneo (Kota Kinabalu, or just North of, and Gaya Island) I am having high hopes for it being dark so that I can take some Milky Way shots.

Anyone have experience of shooting these kind of shots in these parts of the world?

Any tips and Ideas?

My regular Travel equipment is my 5D Mark IV, my 24-70/2,8 and my 70-200/2,8.
I know that the 24-70 will probably work for these kind of shots, But I am thinking if it is worth bringing my Samyang (Rokinon) 14/2,8 as well?
(Will be tight fit in the bag and also getting close to weight limits)
What do you guys think?

The 24-70 is a nice lens but the 14 is a better WF. Lens especially for the MW shots .

Post some shots. Are you back yet..? Singapore is almost always too cloudy and too much light pollution for star shots. I’ve not been to Borneo.

It was nice. Though I did not find Singapore so exciting. Nice to have been there, checked it of the list, but will probably not go back.
Though I loved Borneo :)
