I don't want to dent your enthusiasm OhLook, but here corn like that would be past its used by date (too long on the plant) and fit for cattle fodder.  :p

I'm used to "corn" as being that delicious tucker we boil and get the teeth into.
But it's got to be fresh. You could eat it raw if inclined.
I assumed (wrongly :oops: ) this would have been same.

Thanks, Richard. The delicious stuff is sweet corn, especially good if home-grown so you can cook it when picked. We tried for a couple of years and gave up because squirrels got to most of it first. I saw one running along the fence rail and out of the yard, carrying a whole cob in its teeth.

They say that lots of berries means a hard winter is on the way. Bad news for us in the UK, as our trees and bushes are loaded with these.
