Do we need to modify the thread title to be more inclusive?

My opinions on that question are sadly mixed. All sorts of borderline cases spring to mind. Botanically, a grain of wheat is a fruit. A pumpkin is a fruit. A coconut is a fruit. Some fruit images belong in the still-life section. If you expand the title to include fruits, do you also admit vegetables? For now, I'm putting seed-bearing fruits here without permission from the thread starter. ;-)a

Almost certainly an Acacia but which of the 800 or so species I don't know. The orangy-red part is probably an elaiosome, a sweet, oily structure attached to the seed to attract ants, which take the seed into their underground chambers to store and later eat the elaiosome. This effectively 'plants' the seed, which is very hard and long-lasting, and which will eventually, usually after prolonged rain, germinate and grow.

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

Second an Acacia. But that's as far as my thoughts go
It's a very striking photo.

Red and fleshy. I think it's a Clerodendrum and it's seed pod, but might be a berry, not sure.

You are the thread starter Oh Look, that is why I adresss the suggestion mostly to you. ;-)a

So I see four options:
A) leave as is
B) update the title (just pm me a exact suggestion and I can change it for you)
C) you add some clarrification in your first message (or pm me if you can no longer edit).
D) combination of C and D.

It’s up to you, but happy to use my amazing mod powers to help. :p

Thank you. I'll go with choice C for now. Those amazing powers can be reserved for true emergencies.

Not many of these still around. Very, very dull and drizzly today. I find I am using higher ISO every day at the moment. The 5D doesn't complain, though ;-)a;-)a;-)a

Is this a seed pod? I'm not sure. If it isn't, that's fine, I don't mind deleting it.

It sure looks like one. There's no need to fuss over its eligibility.
