Watching the live stream courtesy of the awesome Scott Kelby...

looks like all the rumors are true--so far.

They're talking an awful lot about everything except the sensor.
Unfortunately it's looking more and more like a 5D4 gone mirrorless with a recycled sensor.
It's not a bad camera in my mind but it doesn't look like the competitor I hoped for.

There's a product page up too... looks like the 28-70 f/2L (!!!) is confirmed as well.

It's a bit of a let down for me, but what say ye?

Canon 6D w/MagicLantern, 16-35 f/2.8LII, 100mm f/2.8L, 70-200 f/2.8LII, 300mm f/4L, and a lot of luck

no one said it was. I was just hoping for a new sensor given that my beloved (tho aging) 6D is having AF problems...again. :(

PS: Mods please move this to a better subforum if need be!

From everything I've seen it looks amazing!

I got impatient waiting for this body and got the A7iii back in May but now I kinda wish I waited, especially with that 35mm macro!

I'm not surprised they have Eye AF too, when they released it on the M50 with AF-S only I figured they where saving the better mode for the FF body.

It looks like a really solid body and if it is as good as 5D4 DR wise then it will be very popular!

You forgot "Couldn't give a monkeys!" in the poll list. I'm really not interested in a mirrorless camera, regardless of the size of the sensor. They do nothing for me, and are just not the right tool for my photographic interests.

Or: I have a mirrorless camera already, I'm not about to rush out and buy another one!

Uhh, per CPW the body is $2300, 28-70 f2 is $3k, the 50 1.2 is $2300, and the (CP)/(ND) adapters are $300/$400. They’re gonna make Sony look cheap! Lol

I find it wild all the comments on various sites about how amazing it is.

I’m so glad I shook the canon fanboy crap off my mind

Not thrilled here.

Enjoy. Sounds like canon can release a batter powered poop stick and it’ll sell great.

Quick read of the material at the Canon website and it looks pretty cool. Focus peaking, a couple gazillion focus points, flip screen, the lenses have that ring thing, and if I understand the talk about the lens design (not a sure thing) they'll be able to control chromatic aberration better than in the current lenses. Price for the body seems reasonable, that lens though is pretty steep. Kit lens probably more affordable.

I didn't get the point of it when it was a rumor. I don't get the point of it now that it is a fact. I'm pretty sure my current gear is still as good as it was yesterday.

1.7 crop for 4k, 5fps for tracking AF, no ibis, single slot sd, 12 stops of dynamic range, no joystick, battery life half of my Sony....

And these canon fan boys are rubbing each others stiffies over this.

I only have the A7III but I think this is a really good body!

Being that this is their entry level body, the only real downside I see is NO IBIS. Where has the sensor DR been confirmed?

Canons release. Says it has dlog with 12 stops of dynamic range.
Don’t get me wrong this is awesome news. Because canon fanboys will make this a huge seller Sony will have to continue to stay competitive

Considering the 5d4 sensor is superior to the 6d sensor, buying the camera gets you mirrorless and a better sensor.

Sony plus adapter is about 200 to 300 cheaper than the EOSr equivalent.
