It's an 18-35mm f/1.8 Art which is an EF-S lens. It works on full frame at 35mm with a fairly heavy vignette, most of which can be corrected in post.
I think Dave's point is that being 3rd party, it's more likely the mount is EF (while the diameter is sized more for APS). AFAIK, the difference between the back of the EF-S and EF is physical...the adapter will switch to crop if it's physically activated by an EF-S mount.

Then why dont the big dslrs have the same DR as sony?
It's actually pretty amazing how Canon's sensor performance has jumped with the current generation cameras (5D4's DR going up 2 stops from 5D3 at base ISO, and having similar DR as Nikon D810/D850 at the same ISO).
