Has anyone had any dealings with a company called Worldwide Film? They sent me a defective tripod head and haven't answered my numerous emails. They list an address on the website (which I didn't see until too late) of 123 Fake St., Toronto, Canada, which, not too surprisingly, turned out to be fake. They have a Customer Service phone number which only says to leave them a message but, of course, they never respond. The product was shipped direct from China. If anybody has had any luck reaching them please tell me how.

Looks like a scam site to me. Everything cheap, some free items, free shipping, photos of premises and site decor look like stock photos. Like you said, address is "Fake street".

Domain does not have any owner info, all in contactprivacy which should never be so with a commerce site. DNS is handled by a fake company:
Domain Name: SYSTEMDNS.COM
Tech Name: Data Protected Data Protected
Tech Organization: Data Protected
Tech Street: 123 Data Protected
Tech City: Toronto
Tech State/Province: ON
Tech Postal Code: M6K 3M1
Tech Country: CA

Is https://worldwidefilm.co/ (external link) the same company? They claim they are a "Hollywood based company" but I see delivery is 7-15 days. That typically is a tip off of shipments direct from an overseas source. The other thing that would bother me about the vendor is lack of a physical address. To me that is usually a red flag.

If you click the Get Directions button on this page...

https://worldwidefilm.co/pages/contact-us (external link)

...it shows a physical address in Toronto of 80 Spadina Ave.

Looks like it might be a photo printing or photo related business. Though I suppose it could be spoofed... or maybe not.

Thank you, Pekka! I'm sure some members here might have imagined that POTN might begin winding down. But that doesn't make the news any less disappointing. So generous of you to allow us to go along for the ride. As a result you gave us a way to help each other become better photographers. But there's still so much more to learn.

How long ago and did you pay with a credit card. If you paid via credit card, file a claim immediately.

I got the device and have been able to fix it so I'm not really out anything at this point. That said, this is still not a company that I would ever want to do business with again.
