Lots of yt reviewers as well as a handful from forums are all saying the AF is noticeably snappier than the xt2.. in stills and video

Speaking of video, they say hlg recording coming in a future firmware update.(not that id use it?)

Also , fantastic that you can punch in to check focus while recording video..

Well that's not talking me out of it... If I where to take chance, an X-T3 would be 75% for video, 25% for those stills I see when I never have my other camera with me. I'd transport this one more for the video project I may be embarking on.

I shot bit with the X-T3 today the AF is so very much improved, both eye AF and tracking, over the X-T2. I only popped in to pick up an XF8-16/2.8 so was nice to spend 30mins playing about with the camera also. It's a world apart from the X-T1 in speed.

Didn't want to start another thread, and since you have hands on, have to ask. Hopefully not too far off topic.

I found the X-T2 + 56 1.2 to have something special going on. It's indescribable. The rendering at 1.2 is beautiful. The skin tones are really quite nice straight out of camera. The Acros + red filter in particular.

I took a couple of test shots with the X-T3 + 56 1.2 and didn't get the same vibe. The lighting situation was vastly different but for some reason the X-T3 seemed almost clinical in the same way Sigma Art lenses are characterized against Canon/Nikon equivalents.

Is it my imagination or is the X-T3 sensor and/or jpg engine producing very different results than the X-T2?

On topic, the X-T3 has a lot going for it. Seriously considering it. Sorry OP, no help here.

You say 75% for video, then I can't help - I just do stills. But I did take my new XT-3 out today and find this is the first camera to challenge to try for Butterflies-in-Flight!! The AF is amazing, but beyond that about the same as my XT-2. There are a few other niceties, but the AF is what it's about.

FUJI XT-2 & FUJI XT-3 ->
12mm Roki, 16 f1.4, 35 f1.4, 56 f1.2, 80 Macro
10-24, 18-55, 55-200, 100-400

The 10bit 4:2:0 DCI 4K 400mbps internal looks amazing on the computer. Very big files though so make sure you are happy pushing those about. The 1080 looks great also it’s a big step up from the X-T2 in video and the tracking is good too. Also you can now at last change the speed so focus pulls are smooth between AF points.
