Brown bear cubs learn how and what to eat, what to be afraid of or not, etc, etc, by following their mom around and doing everything that she does.

D810, 200-500 f5.6, handheld from boat

1) Mom and her two spring cubs(aka cubs of the year).

2) Checking out what mom is eating. Second cub is right behind her.

3) Giving it a taste

4) We've got this

5) Even little bears are strong. This cub flipped this rock over with one paw to look for food beneath it. Just like mom would do it.

Amazing shots of beautiful animals.
Really fascinating. I had no idea they'd take to such tiny shellfish.
Thanks for posting.

At first I was a wee bit horrified that I would see bears ripping at flesh. Then I realized you meant mussels :-)

Bears are real survivors. They eat most anything that has a morsel of nutritional value. Most people have no idea how much grass they eat. It is pretty much the staple of their diet supplemented with low volume, high value things like clams, mussels, etc.

So is it missed spelling or false advertising ? But they eat both spellings :-)
