Waves

I was asked by someone to take some pictures of the sea/waves/swell. Last week I was at the beach and tried some things.

The pictures don't feel right to me, but I have no clue in what direction to move for the next shots.

Everything (except B-W) is up for debate, so C&C is very much appreciated.

I like the 2nd shot!

I actually like the first one. It shows more depth, and draws you into the photo. It would be better if the background/clouds were in sharper focus though. The second one, although the wave is interesting, doesn't really have much to draw me past the wave. Maybe a slightly higher vantage point?
